25H YIN YOGA + MERIDIAN TRAINING | MODULE 2: YIN TO THE DEEP
Traditional Chinese Medicine – The Five Elements & Meridians in Yin Yoga
What is TCM?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient holistic healing system that understands the body, mind, and energy as deeply interconnected. Using tools such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tuina massage, and Qi Gong, TCM aims to restore harmony when imbalances occur.
A central principle of TCM is the balance of Yin and Yang, which is essential for wellbeing. Yin Yoga complements TCM beautifully: through gentle, passive stretching, Yin Yoga stimulates the meridian lines and helps dissolve deeper blockages, supporting balance on both an energetic and physical level.
The link between Yin Yoga & TCM
Both Yin Yoga and TCM share the understanding that life force (Qi) should flow freely throughout the body. While TCM targets energetic blockages through the meridian pathways, Yin Yoga works with long-held poses that affect the fascia and stimulate those same channels.
Combining Yin Yoga with TCM supports deep relaxation, regeneration, and energetic balance. This synergy helps harmonise body and mind, while strengthening the body’s innate ability to heal.

ABOUT NIKOLETA
During her first Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga training, Nikoleta attended two Yin Yoga sessions—quickly realising that Yin, rather than Vinyasa, would be her path. Since then, she has completed two Yin Yoga trainings with international teachers who studied directly under Paul Grilley, the “godfather of Yin Yoga”.
She has since accumulated around 800 training hours in Yin Yoga, meditation, TCM, and acupressure, and has taught hundreds of Yin classes, primarily in Vienna. Her teaching varies in focus—from physical depth to energetic pathways, meditation, and spirituality.
