June 3–6, 2027 @ STUDIO MOND, Salzburg
MODULE 1: 50H YIN FOUNDATIONS
A foundational immersion into the anatomy, philosophy, and methodology of Yin Yoga.
This 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Salzburg is designed for teachers, dedicated practitioners, and curious students who want to understand Yin Yoga beyond the surface — not simply as a slow practice, but as an intelligent and nuanced approach to working with the body.
Held in the intimate setting of Studio Mond, this training offers a deep dive into the principles that underpin Yin Yoga and the anatomical understanding required to practise and teach it responsibly.
The training is taught in English.
German-speaking participants are absolutely welcome — Nikoleta also speaks German and can support with clarification whenever needed.
TRAINING CONTENT
Yin Yoga is often misunderstood. It is not simply stretching. It is not restorative yoga. And it is certainly not just the “easy” counterpart to more dynamic movement practices.
Yin Yoga is a distinct methodology — one that uses stillness, longer-held shapes, and intentional stress on connective tissue to cultivate resilience, awareness, and adaptability in both body and mind.
Because of its slower pace, the practice asks for a different kind of attention. One that cannot rely on momentum, strength, or aesthetic alignment, but instead invites us to listen more carefully.
In this training, we explore Yin Yoga in its original form and theoretical framework, rooted in the teachings of Paul Grilley and informed by modern anatomy and fascia research.
-
Explore the foundational principles of Yin Yoga and how the practice differs from more dynamic, Yang-oriented styles. We look at the intention behind long-held postures, the role of stillness, rebound, compression and tension, and the 14/10/7 model.
-
A deep dive into anatomy through the lens of Yin Yoga. We explore fascia, connective tissue, skeletal variation, joint structure, biotensegrity, viscoelasticity, ligaments, and the effect of long-held static postures on the body.
-
We break down the main Yin Yoga postures for all major areas of the body and explore how they function in different bodies. You will learn how to use props, offer variations, and adapt shapes based on individual anatomy rather than aesthetic alignment.
-
Learn how to guide Yin Yoga with clarity, safety, and confidence. We cover the structure of a Yin class, verbal cueing, timing, pacing, dosage, the use of silence, and how teaching Yin differs from teaching dynamic yoga styles.
-
Understand how to create thoughtful and functional Yin Yoga sequences. We explore different sequencing principles, thematic approaches, target areas, energetic intentions, and how to build classes that feel both spacious and purposeful.
-
Each training day includes an extended Yin Yoga practice. You will also work with group exercises, individual sequencing tasks, practical teaching moments, and a video assignment for feedback.
